The challenge of being your own boss and owning your own business is that you don't get sick days or time off. You are always on - every day you do something to further your business. Add in the complications of fibromyalgia and things get interesting from time to time. This weekend was one of those times. Sunday morning I woke up in so much pain and fatigue that I knew it was going to be a day when not much gets done. Thank goodness my wonderful husband was able to deal with laundry, dinner and the girls. All I had to do was worry about getting better. I have a goal to work on improving my business each and every day. Most days that involves either purchasing inventory, sanding, painting, etc. On days like yesterday and today I can't take on the more physical aspects of this business, but I still do something to further my business. Yesterday it was sit on the couch and research painting techniques on my phone. Today I can do a little more, so I ordered supplies and applied the last of the trim to a set of chairs that I've been working on. I have to break it up into small tasks so I don't have a relapses. Once I'm done with my Monday Marketing goals its time to get back to my heat pack and snuggle on the couch with my youngest.
I'm redoing my jewelry display at the shop in time for the holiday shopping season. Maybe tomorrow I can cut the boards for my new jewelry stand....getting it fully assembled is my goal for this week. Just have to take it one step at a time.
But for now I have to take care of me so that I can care for my family and do the business I love.
