I know its been almost 2 months since I've posted to my blog. Not cool, but 2 kids, 2 dogs, a bird and a husband will do that. I've also taken on more duties at Black Barrel Vintage Company. I absolutely adore the store and love my time there. For anyone in the Seattle area, please come check us out at 112 W Main Street in Monroe. We will also have a booth at the Kla Ha Ya Days Festival in Snohomish in July.
It means less time for painting and the late spring rains certainly didn't help my desire to paint, but the weather has warmed up and dried out so I'm back to the grind stone. For a bit I switched focus to develop my line of Essential Oil based face products. An earlier blog mentions my lip balms and my face serum. Since then I've added a toner, bug spray and bite balm. I'm working on a makeup remover and eye cream next, but I had to refocus my energy on my furniture side for a bit. I've finished 4 new pieces in the last two weeks, so I feel like I'm back in the saddle and getting my creative juices flowing. I love my chalk paint, but my favorite piece of the latest batch is this chippy green end table done in milk paint. This was a fun process and I'll definitely be doing more in milk paint now that I've found a local brand that I love.
