Let's face it, as a mom, wife and business owner it is easy to give to my friends and family without thinking of myself. I know there are lots you out there like that. One of the things I've learned early on from my adventures with fibromyalgia is that I need to treat my energy like a bank. You can't withdraw funds you don't have. I can't give to my friends, family or business life if I haven't made a deposit in my energy bank. So I need to keep my account balance in the black so I can continue to do the things I love.
One small ritual I have is that every night at bedtime I rub my feet with my body butter. My current favorite is my "Walk in the Woods" body butter. Taking a minute to rub in the body butter is relaxing and soothing at the end of the day. I've noticed my feet aren't dry and cracked anymore either. It is amazing how small things can make such a difference in my day.
I'd like to take this opportunity to start a dialog about the things you do to fill your energy bank? Do you have a creative endeavor that fuels you? Its it a physical activity? What fills your bank? I'd love to hear from you.
